I joined the Embassy of Canada in Honduras in 2016 as a Common Services Coordinator, and over nearly a decade grew into a Common Services Officer role covering procurement, property management, and day-to-day operations. That progression wasn't linear, I left briefly to lead the simultaneous opening of two corporate offices across Honduras for a U.S.-based company, then came back to the Embassy at a senior level. That kind of growth came from consistently taking ownership of what needed doing.
On the numbers side: I manage a USD $1.5M+ annual budget with zero overruns across my full tenure, oversee a portfolio of 6 properties and 3 official vehicles, and have coordinated 20+ diplomatic staff relocations with a 100% on-time delivery record. I also maintain a clean compliance record across 10+ simultaneous contracts and leases, zero lapses or audit findings.
On the leadership side: I supervise a logistics team of 5–7 people including formal performance reviews and competency assessments. When institutional software resources were limited, I designed a custom SharePoint-based maintenance tracking system using Forms and Lists giving the team real-time visibility into workload, task status, and bottlenecks. I've also renegotiated vendor contracts to expand service scope at no additional cost, getting more value within the same budget.
I hold a Master's degree in Project Management, I'm a certified Internal Auditor in ISO 9001-2015, and I work daily in SAP, SAP Fiori, Jira, Asana, and Remedy. I'm bilingual in English and Spanish (IELTS C1), with working knowledge of French.
