Fijra Syamlan
@fijrasyamlan
An analytical strategist with a strong background in business growth and operational transformation.
What I'm looking for
Since I was in school, I have always enjoyed making decisions and understanding the reasoning behind them. That curiosity led me to choose a field of study that would strengthen my problem-solving ability. I decided to study Public Health because it is a discipline that strongly emphasizes evidence-based policy making, particularly in healthcare, which I believe remains a privilege for many people in Indonesia.
From university until today, I have consistently enjoyed being the person who analyzes situations through data and evidence, translates findings into insights, and supports decision-making. Throughout my career, I have worked across consulting services, healthcare, and the food and beverage industry. Although the industries were different, the core skill remained the same: identifying problems, understanding their root causes, and designing practical and strategic solutions. This approach has helped the organizations I worked with improve key business metrics such as revenue growth, operational efficiency, process digitalization, and cost optimization.
Beyond my professional career, my deeper interest lies in public welfare and social impact. I am motivated by work that can improve people’s quality of life, whether at an individual level or at a broader population level. This interest was reflected in my undergraduate thesis, which examined policies related to taxation on sugar-sweetened beverages as a public health intervention.
My long-term aspiration is simple: to help more people, and ideally as many people as possible. That is one of the reasons I became involved in healthcare system development and electronic medical record initiatives in my recent role. In Indonesia, integrated health data systems are still far from common, and contributing to their development, even step by step, has been a meaningful and humbling experience for me. I see technology and data not merely as operational tools, but as instruments that can improve access, continuity of care, and ultimately people’s well-being.
Today, I continue to seek opportunities where I can combine analytical thinking, evidence-based decision making, and a strong sense of public purpose to create work that is both impactful and sustainable.
