Federico Erostarbe
@federicoerostarbe
Senior mobile engineer and mobile engineering leader, delivering iOS, Android, and React Native products.
What I'm looking for
I’ve been building mobile applications for more than fifteen years because I genuinely love the craft, even as the tooling and platforms keep evolving. I’ve spent most of my career in small teams and early-stage environments where the work demands ownership beyond a narrow role.
I lead mobile engineering teams and drive product and technical trade-offs while staying close to the code—working with stakeholders to shape what to build and turning rough ideas into something concrete. I started with native iOS and Android, and I adopted React Native early because it improved how teams could build without sacrificing the experience.
Most recently, I’ve been Head of Mobile Engineering at POAP, leading the mobile engineering team behind POAP Home on a React Native / Expo stack. I built offline-first mobile architecture, shipped end-to-end features, and worked across iOS/Android/watchOS integrations like NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and background GPS tracking—while also contributing to POAP’s Node.js / TypeScript backend and Postgres infrastructure.
Before that, I led frontend and backend efforts in Web3 and DeFi contexts, including designing a TypeScript SDK, improving complex cross-chain UX, and scaling production services with a focus on stability. Across roles, I’ve consistently used strong technical leadership, CI discipline, and pragmatic engineering standards to ship reliable products.
