Em Sutherland
@emsutherland
I improve delivery processes, build lasting agile capability, and provide senior interim delivery leadership.
What I'm looking for
I deliver and transform complex software work across government, financial services, e-commerce and tech. Most recently, I delivered an NGO mental-health MVP at Springload Te Pipītanga on time and within budget, while helping clients clarify scope, sustain momentum and prepare future work.
I step into Delivery Manager, Scrum Master and Agile Coach roles when delivery is unclear, stalled or needs trusted interim cover. At Trade Me, I coached the Data Platform team on OKRs and agility to exceed targets for two quarters, and I introduced Scrum to an Infrastructure team while mentoring a Scrum Master for long-term adoption.
My technical background in Java engineering and third-line support lets me work comfortably where delivery meets technical reality. I use health checks, facilitation, story mapping, planning and mentorship to leave teams stronger and able to run without me.
