Diana Ramirez-Meyers
@dianaramirez-meyers
Spanish educator and translator specializing in mythocriticism and Latin American literature, blending scholarship with student-centered teaching.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Spanish educator and translator with a Ph.D. in LatinAmerican Literature, focused on myth-criticism theory and the “presencia del mito.” My work extends into scholarly collaboration through UNAM’s “Seminario de Investigación sobre lo fantástico” and Universidad de Guanajuato’s “Poéticas de lo inquietante.”
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (CONACYT) at Texas A&M University, I conducted advanced myth-criticism research on Juan José Saer and Alberto Chimal, producing 5 peer-reviewed publications. I’ve also designed and led an intensive graduate seminar focused on Mythocritique and served as a full-time lecturer for undergraduate Spanish and LatinAmerican Literature courses.
I bring that same rigor to students through teaching Spanish at multiple levels, plus personalized language instruction (A1–C2). Alongside academia, I work as a freelance translator, transcriber, and voiceover artist providing high-fidelity Spanish-to-English services.
