What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a higher-ed role where I can teach Spanish and lead OER- and LMS-driven course design—building hybrid/online learning that’s measurable, culturally grounded, and supported by strong academic collaboration.

I’m an Associate Professor of Spanish at Clayton State University, where I teach lower- and upper-level courses, advise students, and help design and finalize curriculum for the Spanish major. I also support study abroad through program leadership in Costa Rica and sponsor the Spanish Club.

With my focus on learner-centered instruction, I build courses for fully f2f, hybrid, or online delivery. I’ve designed daily lesson plans using a Communicative and Whole Language Approach, create assessment criteria, and develop engaging materials (including interactive eBooks and LMS-ready content).

I’m especially driven by Open Educational Resources and scalable online learning. I’ve helped revise University System of Georgia eCore platforms for Intermediate Spanish I and II, rewriting lesson tests, updating discussion topics and check-in boards, and creating instructional videos and culturally authentic activities; I also received a 2023 eHero Award for outstanding service to USG eCampus and high performance in online education.

My doctoral work and research ground my teaching in Spanish-American literature and theater. I hold a Ph.D. from Florida State University (Spanish, specialization in Spanish-American Literature), publish in international journals and conference proceedings, and pursue grants that turn course content into interactive, reusable learning resources.
