Experienced User Research Specialist with a focus on digital services.
What I'm looking for
I am an experienced User Research Specialist with over 10 years of expertise in public sector digital services and user-centered design. My career has been dedicated to delivering impactful insights through various research methodologies, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic studies. I have a proven track record of aligning research with strategic outcomes, influencing policy, and enhancing digital services in compliance with Government Design Standards.
One of my key achievements includes establishing the user research function at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), where I led a team to implement a comprehensive user research strategy. This initiative ensured user-centric approaches across multiple digital services, all of which passed GDS assessments. My work has significantly influenced government digital policy and tools, particularly in areas affecting funeral directors and procurement.
Throughout my career, I have successfully managed various projects, including the development of the Great British Bee Count app and leading ethnographic research for the Royal Society's education policy report, which drove £100m in government investment. I am passionate about using research to inform design decisions and improve user experiences in digital services.
