Christopher Janicki
@cjanicki
B.S. in Computer Science specializing in web development and UX design, with a background in photography and film.
What I'm looking for
I'm a web developer and UX designer with a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at El Paso. My career has taken me through higher education, municipal government, and the private sector, and that variety has shaped me into someone who's comfortable moving between deep technical work and design-focused problem-solving.
I currently work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where I started as an IT Senior Technician supporting enterprise AV, classroom technology, and network hardware before being promoted into a UX Designer role. Today, I'm part of a six-member Agile team leading a full redesign of the Texas Tech Health El Paso website, and I manage accessibility (WCAG/ADA compliance), SEO, performance optimization, and analytics across multiple institutional web properties. Earlier in my career, I redesigned municipal websites for the City of El Paso's IT Department, improving accessibility for thousands of residents, and I served as Director of Admissions at Cathedral High School, where I increased enrollment by 20% through a full redesign of the school's admissions materials and systems.
UX design is at the core of how I approach every project, I care as much about how a site feels to use as how well it performs technically. My long-term goal is to become one of the best web developers I can be, eventually building and managing websites for artists, small businesses, and independent professionals. That goal is closely tied to another passion of mine: photography and film. I've always had a strong eye for visual composition and storytelling, and that creative background continues to inform how I think about design, layout, and user experience, even as my career has moved fully into development.
Right now, I'm especially motivated to find a new role quickly. My partner currently lives in Oklahoma City, and I'm in the process of relocating to be with him, so I'm actively seeking a remote position that would let me start working and moving forward with that transition as soon as possible.
I bring a strong work ethic, professionalism, and genuine dedication to everything I take on, whether I'm working independently or as part of a team. I communicate clearly, adapt quickly, and take pride in delivering high-quality work I can stand behind. I value collaboration and believe the best results come from teams that trust and support one another. I'm excited to bring that same energy, reliability, and care to my next role.
