Avisha Sharma

I've contributed to plant biotechnology research at CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, supporting technology scale-up for naphthoquinone red pigment production using Arnebia euchroma induced adventitious roots in bioreactors.

As a Research Intern in the SCBB Lab at CSIR-IHBT, I performed de novo transcriptome assembly of Ferula asafoetida and used Linux-based bioinformatics tools for sequence analysis, data processing, genomic-data interpretation, and project reporting.

I've also built machine learning models for heart disease risk prediction, comparing Logistic Regression, Random Forest, SVM, KNN, Decision Tree, and Gradient Boosting approaches through preprocessing, feature engineering, and model tuning.

My work combines wet-lab molecular biology, next-generation sequencing workflows, scientific data analysis, and scientific writing. I have contributed to peer-reviewed publications in Food Research International and Food & Humanity.
