Abby Benavidez

I’m an intervention-focused educator with over eight years of experience specializing in ELAR, dyslexia intervention, and ELL instruction. I focus on breaking down learning barriers for diverse student populations through structured, supportive reading and writing instruction.

In my recent role as a Provider of Dyslexia Instruction with Los Fresnos CISD, I teach foundational reading and writing skills and support students as they build fluency and comprehension. I also have experience managing campus-wide dyslexia programs for two and a half school years.

I’ve continued this work through remote tutoring and instruction, including independent contractor tutoring for English Language Arts and Reading with Outschool and remote support as a tutor. I develop and teach creative writing classes as students strengthen their skills in both reading and written expression.

Before this, I served as a 6th Grade ELAR Teacher and 4th Grade Teacher, strengthening core subject learning and supporting students’ foundational literacy skills. I bring a strong background in behavior modification and positive reinforcement, and I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
