Michele Smith

I’m a dedicated literacy specialist and reading interventionist with extensive experience supporting elementary students through data-driven instruction and research-based literacy practices. In my current role, I deliver small-group and individualized intervention that strengthens foundational reading skills, including phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

I analyze student assessment data to monitor progress and make instructional decisions, then design differentiated instructional plans aligned with literacy standards and student learning goals. I collaborate with classroom teachers, intervention teams, and administrators to support student achievement and maintain detailed progress monitoring documentation for stakeholders.

I also bring a coaching and professional learning mindset, providing instructional coaching and facilitating learning conversations focused on literacy best practices, intervention strategies, student engagement, and assessment literacy. In addition, I support educators through data coaching and help teams interpret outcomes so instruction remains responsive, inclusive, and effective—whether in-person or remote.
