As part of the Tripadvisor Localization team, you will coordinate translation production and Localization QA initiatives across 23 languages and 37 non-English Points of Sale (POS) to ensure we deliver a great user experience for travelers all around the world. You will be an integral part of existing Localization operations, playing a central role in coordinating a range of Localization activities, and supporting various programs and initiatives. To be a successful candidate, you will be a self-starter, independent, detail-oriented, passionate about languages, and able to work to ambitious deadlines. Your communication and problem-solving skills will allow you to excel in a diverse team and professional environment. This is an entry level position.

On the Localization team, you will solve problems that impact millions of travelers around the world. The Localization Coordinator role will report to the Localization QA Manager and will work either near Tripadvisor headquarters in Needham, MA or remotely in the Eastern time zone of the US

What you’ll do:

  • Translation production coordination
  • Coordinate day to day translation production tasks.
  • Communicate instructions to external providers, ensuring that they are accountable for quality and delivery.
  • Proactively communicate progress status and issues to key stakeholders across the business, ensuring to update them on the exact status of production as required.
  • Handle queries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the Localization team, third party partners, and Tripadvisor stakeholders to support business needs and meet targets.

Localization QA coordination

  • Own end-to-end bug management for as many as 23 languages and 37 points of sale across web and app platforms.
  • Triage, investigate and solve all localization issues reported via test cycles.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to address non-linguistic bugs.
  • Become a subject matter expert in diverse areas of the product and use this knowledge to efficiently collaborate and solve problems.
  • Support regular testing on the existing product and new features to ensure fixes and corrections have taken effect.
  • Contribute to Localization QA data requirements.

Other duties

  • Provide guidance to business stakeholders on selected aspects of localization and internationalization.
  • Maintain and update localization knowledge base documentation.
  • Identify and propose process and tool improvements and efficiency opportunities.
  • Contribute to the success of team Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Language or Translation (e.g. Modern Languages), Business/Project management, or other related fields possessing strong international field and language skills.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience, preferably with an understanding and experience working with localization processes and tools.
  • Experience with translation management systems is a strong bonus.
  • Experience working alongside diverse and cross-functional teams and comfortable working with languages other than English and across time zones.
  • Experience in either Localization Operations or QA.
  • Excellent time management skills and drive to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Detail-focused and hands-on.
  • Adaptable to ongoing changes and shifting priorities. Able to work with moving parts across multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal communication, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A team player who works well in collaborative situations.
  • Readily accepts feedback, acknowledges mistakes, learns from them, and always moves forward productively.
  • Experience or interest in AI systems is a bonus.
  • Native bilingual proficiency in languages other than English is a strong bonus, with a preference for German, Brazilian Portuguese or Japanese

The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $65,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
