Job Role

We’re currently recruiting for a Management Accountant for our dedicated Finance Team. You'll work with our largest business area within the Group and, supported by the relevant Finance Business Partner, will promote a culture that empowers budget holders and supports them to develop and meet long-term business plans.

Our successful candidate will ideally be a qualified/part-qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA), or AAT fully qualified. We need your management and analytic skills to drive performance targets and metrics and prepare the monthly management accounts.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range of £31,000 - £37,000 p.a. (dependent on experience and qualification) with these great benefits:

Location: Remote working (base location ideally Essex or the surrounding areas as occasional travel will be required into our Hockley Head Office)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours a week. Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts
  • Responsibility and accountability for the business areas balance sheet reporting
  • Provide monthly analysis of all relevant balance sheet accounts and lead schedules
  • Responsibility and accountability for business area profit and loss reporting
  • Responsibility and accountability for business area cash flow reporting
  • Support the divisional Finance Business Partners with analysis
  • Liaison with internal and external audit teams, produce information and respond to requests appropriately
  • Support the Finance department in delivering the long-term financial strategy with a focus on driving value and strategic management of funding across the business by challenging spend plans and taking a proactive role in looking for opportunities to deliver services more efficiently and effectively.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • A qualified/part-qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) or AAT qualified.
  • Previous management accounts experience
  • Ability to analyse and problem-solve
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Intermediate/ advanced Excel skills

Desirable

  • Sage 200 experience.
