Support open-source projects
The PostHog platform wouldn't be possible without open-source software. We are standing on the shoulders of giants. As such, we feel it's important to support the software we benefit from through giving each team member a $100/month budget to provide support to open-source projects.
Company events
As a global, all-remote team, we don't get many regular opportunities to socialize with each other outside of our offsite. We encourage team members to try and meet up with each other when practical, and provide everyone with an $250 monthly budget to cover the cost of travel and meals.
Learning and development budget
The training budget is $1000 per calendar year, but this isn't a hard limit - if you want to spend in excess of this, have a chat with your manager. Where the costs are higher than $1000, please give Charles a heads-up, so he can increase your card limit. Everyone at PostHog is also eligible to buy books to help you in your job.
Sabbaticals
As we have unlimited, permissionless time off, PostHog doesn’t offer ‘sabbaticals’ in the way that some companies do. Instead, we strongly encourage team members to use our existing policy to take a full month off every 3-4 years. We only ask that you organise this thoughtfully with your team by giving them enough notice to plan.
Paid parental leave
Anyone at PostHog, regardless of gender, is able to take parental leave, and regardless of the way you've become a parent - childbirth, adoption or foster care. If you have been at PostHog for over 1 year, you can take up to 12 weeks off on full pay. You can take a further 4 weeks unpaid leave if you need more time. After this, if you need to stagger your return to work, you can.
Employee assistance program (EAP)
We know that the world can feel a bit heavy from time to time and we want to make sure everyone gets support, if they need it. We launched Spill in March 2021 to give everyone in the team access to comprehensive mental health support. Spill offers access to video therapy sessions with qualified therapists (one-off or a course), together with exercises and helpful reading materials.
