The Role
Were looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure to take the lead in designing, optimizing, securing, and ensuring the reliability of our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you'll be responsible for the management and optimization of our CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure automation, security posture, performance monitoring, and cost efficiency across Azure. You'll take operational ownership, including responding to Azure alerts, proactively improving performance, and maintaining a robust security framework for our Azure environment.
This is a full-time, remote position based in the Philippines.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & CI/CD
Automate the build, test, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning pipelines using Azure DevOps, Bicep/ARM, or Terraform.
Design, maintain, and optimize secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines integrated with GitHub or Azure Repos.
Enhance deployment reliability and speed by applying automation best practices.
Azure Infrastructure Management
Design, maintain, and optimize secure, scalable Azure infrastructure (e.g., App Services, AKS, Azure Functions, Key Vault, Azure Monitor).
Manage networking, identity, and access controls using Azure best practices (Azure AD, RBAC, NSGs, VNets).
Own the performance and health of Azure resources across various environments (dev, staging, production).
Continuously improve cost efficiency and performance using Azure Cost Management, Azure Advisor, and right-sizing strategies.
Monitoring, Alerts & Reliability
Implement end-to-end monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
Actively monitor and respond to Azure alerts, incidents, and performance issues.
Proactively manage server and application performance (CPU, memory, scaling, latency, throughput).
Ensure high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies are in place and regularly tested.
Lead root cause analysis and drive improvements to prevent recurring issues.
Security & Compliance
Continuously improve Azure Secure Score and implement security best practices across environments.
Address Microsoft Defender for Cloud recommendations to strengthen security posture.
Enforce security practices (e.g., least privilege, secret management, patching, vulnerability remediation).
Collaborate with engineering to ensure secure cloud-native architecture patterns.
Quality & Collaboration
Work closely with engineering and QA teams to support release automation and ensure environment stability.
Participate in system architecture discussions and performance tuning of infrastructure.
Document infrastructure standards, runbooks, and operational procedures to ensure consistency.
What Were Looking For
Must-Have Technical Skills
7+ years of DevOps/SRE experience, with at least 3+ years focused on Microsoft Azure.
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
Hands-on experience managing production Azure environments.
Proficient in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
Experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions.
Deep knowledge of Azure monitoring, alerting, cost optimization, and security services.
Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and cloud security best practices.
DevOps & SaaS Mindset
Strong understanding of SaaS uptime, reliability, and scalability needs.
Experience managing production systems with incident response ownership.
Proactive approach to automation, observability, cost control, and security improvements.
Soft Skills
