Data Architect

Overview

Our client is a rapidly growing Data and AI consulting firm delivering impactful solutions across the Asia-Pacific region. As an AWS-exclusive partner, they specialize in helping organizations modernize their data platforms, adopt advanced analytics, and implement AI-driven solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

They are looking for an experienced Data Architect to design and deliver enterprise-grade cloud data solutions supporting large-scale transformation initiatives across the APAC region. You will collaborate closely with clients, partners, and cloud providers to define and implement modern data and AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable, and modern cloud-based data architectures that support digital transformation programs.
• Ensure data platforms adhere to governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Translate complex technical solutions into clear business value for stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and architects across distributed teams.
• Collaborate with cloud providers, partners, and clients to co-develop innovative solutions and accelerators.
• Lead solution architecture across the full lifecycle, from pre-sales (RFPs, solution design) to implementation and delivery oversight.
• Drive best practices in performance optimization, cost efficiency, and long-term scalability.
• Deliver high-impact solutions that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and decision-making capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience

Industry & Domain Expertise

• Proven experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical projects within:
• Financial services (e.g., core systems modernization, fraud detection, risk & compliance)
• Telecommunications (e.g., OSS/BSS, network analytics, customer platforms)
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks such as PDPA, MAS TRM, APRA, and GDPR.

Cloud & Data Architecture

• At least 5+ years of experience designing AWS-based data platforms.
• Expertise in building data lakes, real-time data streaming solutions, and analytics platforms.
• Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Lambda, DynamoDB, and Athena.

Data Engineering & Governance

• Strong knowledge of data governance, lineage, quality, cataloging, and security.
• Experience designing and optimizing scalable data pipelines.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT frameworks and tools (e.g., Glue, Kafka, Airflow, Spark/Hadoop ecosystem).

Databases & Analytics

• Deep understanding of data warehousing, MPP systems, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with SQL-based analytics tools (e.g., Hive, Spark SQL, Athena, Redshift Spectrum).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.

Leadership & Delivery

• Experience owning end-to-end solution delivery from pre-sales to implementation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring distributed teams.
• Willingness to travel for client and project engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Generative AI data integration (e.g., vector databases, embeddings).
• Exposure to multi-country or cross-regional projects.
• Familiarity with other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).
• Thought leadership contributions (e.g., speaking engagements, publications, open-source work).
• Experience supporting go-to-market initiatives or solution accelerators.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup strategies for large-scale systems.
