Engineering Lead

The Role:

We’re hiring an Engineering Lead to take ownership of the system and help us scale it.

This is not a “manage from a distance” role. You’ll be in the code, shaping architecture, and setting the standard for how we build. We have a strong foundation in place today, but there’s still a significant amount to build and evolve as we scale.

You’ll be responsible for driving technical direction across the platform, with real autonomy in how we design and implement systems. At the same time, we make major decisions collaboratively to ensure we’re building the right things in the right way.

You need to be able to hold a clear mental model of a complex system, including how data, APIs, infrastructure, and user experience all connect, and use that to build thoughtful, high-impact solutions. You should be comfortable reasoning across layers of the stack, while also understanding user behavior and making pragmatic decisions about what to build and why.

You’ll work directly with founders and play a key role in turning a strong foundation into a category-defining product.

Responsibilities:

• Own and evolve the architecture including cloud infrastructure

• Lead development on complex, high-impact features across the platform

• Maintain a clear mental model of the system and push for simplicity where possible

• Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance speed, scalability, and reliability

• Ship continuously, iterating quickly based on feedback and real usage

• Set the tone for engineering quality, accountability, and execution

• Collaborate closely with product to ensure what we build is actually useful, not just technically impressive

• Help scale the team over time (hiring, mentoring, levelling up engineers)

Requirements:

• 6+ years building and shipping real products (B2B SaaS / Media tech ideally)

• Strong fullstack experience in TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystems

• You’ve worked on complex systems and understand how they actually function end-to-end

• You know where details matter and where to keep things simple

• You’re comfortable owning decisions and being accountable for outcomes

• You bias toward action, but not at the expense of thinking

• You understand user behavior and think beyond implementation, making pragmatic decisions about what to build and why

• You care about building things that people actually use

• You’ve led teams through growth and helped them become more effective as they scale

• You’ve worked beyond just application code, including cloud infrastructure

Nice to Have:

• Experience in media, streaming, or video workflows

• Familiarity with video processing / transcoding pipelines

• Experience building multi-device or TV-based platforms

• Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS) / networking
