Senior QA Tester

We're looking for a full-time Senior QA Tester who is passionate about becoming an Immerse feature expert so you can ensure excellent test coverage and quality assurance across all our product offerings. You are always curious about how things work, and that motivates you to uncover problems and identify ways for improvement. You also see this as a great opportunity to start and cultivate a QA team in an exciting, growing startup environment. You will report directly to the Chief Product Officer.

Responsibilities

• Become a deep expert in all things Immerse by spending a significant amount of time in our product offerings.
• Test new and existing features, looking for bugs and edge cases that could detract from our customers’ user experience.
• Create test plans for manual testing and ensure coverage for every feature across our product offerings.
• Not only ensure features work correctly, but also ensure they perform well, using profiling tools as needed.
• Provide clear, streamlined results of manual testing (especially steps to reproduce) in an issue tracking tool that is prioritized so that our engineers can determine how to fix them and QA can verify the fixes are successful.
• Track status of bug fixes and proactively notify relevant parties and stakeholders of progress
• Regularly provide feedback to engineering teams regarding quality issues and recurring bugs that need to be addressed
• Schedule internal testing of new features with the appropriate staff well in advance of releases
• As needed, oversee and interface with outside (i.e., offshore) QA teams for manual testing, especially for QA related to multiplayer networking
• Create reports and release notes with every release that demonstrate test coverage and quality of release
• Identify potential areas for automation and tools to assist the QA process
• Create a plan for moving from a single full-time QA resource to eventually building an entire QA team
• Apply industry best QA practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in gaming industry as a lead QA tester
• Passionate about QA (especially in gaming), not just a stepping stone in career path to some other area in tech/engineering
• Experience with in-engine performance profiling tools, especially as related to testing multiplayer networking
• Experience with issue tracking tools
• Experience with build release tools
• Experience with test and tool development methodologies
• Experience coordinating with both onsite and offshore teams
• Experience testing across multiple platforms, especially VR/Unity and web apps
