In this role, you’ll be an integral part of our product development teams, collaborating closely to turn feedback, insights, and user needs into features. We're seeking talented people, who take pride in their work and are passionate about crafting exceptional experiences for customers. If you enjoy taking projects from discovery all the way through delivery, thrive in a dynamic environment, and love solving complex problems, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Run UX Research: Create prototypes, conduct user testing and interviews, gather feedback, and analyze findings. Advocate for research-backed design decisions and a deeper understanding of user needs.

  • Shape the Vision: Contribute to the product design and UX direction within your squad, working closely with product and engineering teams to ensure a cohesive, user-centric approach.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to identify problems, define goals, and set priorities that align with business objectives. Ensure design solutions are feasible and effectively communicated through to completion.

  • Deliver Pixel-Perfect Designs: Produce high-fidelity visuals for new features, product enhancements, and customer requests, maintaining quality and consistency.

  • Participate in evolving our Design System: Contribute to evolving, maintaining and improving Zone, Hubstaff’s Design System.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proficiency in UX Research: You’re comfortable planning and executing user interviews, testing prototypes, and synthesizing results into actionable next steps.

  • Advanced Figma Skills: You’re adept at building and maintaining a design system and delivering clean, organized files to development teams.

  • Strong Collaboration: You have experience working closely with PMs and engineers—leveraging feedback, clarifying requirements, and aligning on shared goals.

  • Project Management Aptitude: You can organize, plan, and effectively move design projects forward, adapting as needed in a fast-paced environment.

  • Autonomy & Adaptability: You’re comfortable owning projects and making decisions in the face of ambiguity.

  • Outstanding Communication: You can clearly articulate ideas, receive constructive feedback, and keep stakeholders aligned.

  • Attention to Detail: You strive for pixel-perfect quality and seamless user flows.

At Hubstaff we love doing things the "Right way" by talking to customers, writing specs, having copious amounts of unit testing, conducting peer code reviews, trying to break things during QA, and sleeping well at night. But we're always looking for ways to improve. People rarely work more than 40 hrs/wk and we spend 0% of our time-fighting fires.

There's no babysitting. You're in charge of yourself. That means you work where and when you want.

Culture is really important to us. But building culture in a remote team can be difficult. We do a lot of things to try to remedy that. Chief among them are our annual retreats. Last year our retreat was in Lisbon, Portugal. We had a hackathon, broke out of escape rooms, and ate lots of good food.

There's always something challenging to work and great people to spend your days building things at Hubstaff.
