The Senior Director of Brand Corporate Communications will lead a team responsible for developing the overall brand strategy, building effective messaging, communication and marketing strategies to raise the visibility of the organization. This role shapes how Granicus is perceived by customers, prospects, partners, influencers, and the market at large.
Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), you will oversee the company branding and messaging, the development of communications and marketing collateral, including news releases, opinion pieces, speeches, corporate materials, videos, social and digital media, web content as well as own the brand management of the company.
The ideal candidate will be deadline-oriented, experienced in strategic communications management and a skilled storyteller.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement brand strategies that align with Granicus’ mission and business goals, maintaining brand integrity across all company materials and digital platforms.
  • Direct and manage a comprehensive long-term communications strategy, including public relations, influencer programs, and social media management.
  • Lead and manage issues/reputational/crisis communications strategy and execution in coordination.
  • Ensure high quality and consistency in communications and branding.
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functional marketing teams, to ensure coordination and consistency of brand positioning, messaging, and differentiation and support product launches, major events, and marketing campaigns with aligned messaging and visuals.
  • Develop and maintain thought leadership, including overseeing annual industry research, reinforcing Granicus’ position as a leader in the digital experience space.
  • Oversee the design, production and distribution of all publications, op-eds, press releases, collateral, and other content.
  • Oversee the development of web content, design to ensure it is aligned with the overall organizational branding and messaging.
  • Oversee the company digital and social media strategy, campaigns and content .
  • Lead the development and execution of a media relations strategy to elevate Granicus’ reputation, and overall organizational goals through relationship building with targeted media, story placement and proactive response to media requests.
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures necessary to run a smooth operation of the communications function.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 - 15 years overall marketing communications experience.
  • Government marketing leadership experience a plus.
  • 7+ years people management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of brand management.
  • Excellent communications and written skills: Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing, as well as able to communicate quantitative information in a clear and informative manner.
  • Strong creative, strategic and analytical skills.
  • Organizational skills: They must pay attention to detail and possess the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously to enable the effective management of internal and external relationships.
  • Demonstrated successful experience writing news releases, developing, and delivering presentations and working with media.
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of collateral, website management and social media content creation.
  • Experience in strategic marketing planning and collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Leadership and teamwork capabilities.
  • Project management skills and an understanding of how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment where functioning autonomously and collaborating as part of a team are equally important.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills: Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills to identify risks, provide market insights, and draw valid conclusions from findings using available data.
  • Passionate and experienced in working with public sector entities.
  • Experience working with geographical teams.
Potential base salary. Does not include bonus OR commission and benefits.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $125,000-$160,000 USD
