Role Description
The role of Digital Buildings and IoT Project Coordinator (PjC) is to provide project related coordination for FPC and our Clients. Working as a part of the FPC IoT Services Group, the role will be responsible for assisting & coordinating the delivery of projects and services to FPC’s clients in order to successfully fulfill the Scope of Work (SoW) outlined in the Agreement, Proposal or Engagement Letter between FPC and it’s Client, together with any other relevant client side documents such as Business Requirements Document (BRD), policies, standards and processes.
The Digital Buildings and IoT Project Coordinator represents FPC in delivering services to our Clients and when working with industry partners and suppliers, so will maintain the highest standards of technical and professional performance, and conduct themself with honesty and integrity at all times.
In addition to client-facing role and responsibilities, the Digital Buildings and IoT Project Coordinator is expected to be an active member of the IoT Services team, to make a positive contribution to the development of the team and wider FPC business, working effectively with all FPC colleagues to successfully deliver projects and support FPC’s business objectives.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Delivery of non-technical and some technical (as training and knowledge allows) related project coordinator services and projects for clients in accordance with the Proposal, Scope of Work (SoW) and/or Engagement Letter
- Understand customer requirements and business objectives and work proactively with FPC, the Client and other stakeholders to meet and deliver them
- Coordinate & assist with the delivery of projects and processes on time, to scope and budget as per Client requirements
- Coordinate & assist with the production of RFPs, service delivery, and project related reports as required
- Represent FPC in a professional manner internally and externally, and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction for all work performed
- Be an effective team member, communicating with colleagues and working collectively to contribute to the development of IoT Services Group and the FPC business as a whole
- Build and maintain expertise, knowledge and understanding of industry trends, developments and initiatives
- Identify, develop, deliver and support opportunities for continuous improvement for FPC
- Report to line manager, acting in accordance with their requests and direction and those of FPC management
- Manage own workload, communicating and escalating any issues to line manager accordingly
Experience and Qualifications
The Digital Buildings and IoT Project Coordinator should possess some or all of the following experience and qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years project coordinator experience, preferably in IoT Solutions, Systems Integration related projects or related industries such as Architecture, Design or Construction
- Project Coordinator / Management Qualifications such as APM, PMP or similar
- Experience in working on projects using either Agile and/or Waterfall project management methods
- Excellent Project Reporting, Risk and Issue Management and Communications Skills
- Coordinating on Project Reviews and Lessons Learnt activities to feed into Continual internal and external improvement
- Effective Stakeholder Management and communication skills, including attending project, client and team meetings, document writing and presentation skills
- Experience working as part of a delivery team to help coordinate & manage the project from design to handover, including:
- Client requirements gathering and documentation
- Competitive Tender (RFP) Procurement
- SoW and Specification Development
- Process development including RACI, process and procedure
- Project proposal development, estimating and presentation
- Knowledge of, and preferably experience and/or qualification in, the RIBA Stages of Work or international equivalents
- Experience and or qualification in Construction Projects and Contracting methods
- Basic technical understanding in delivering digital / smart building, IoT or Information Technology projects
- Construction Industry Health & Safety Qualification (CSCS or equivalent) and understanding of H&S RAMS
- Competent using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office software applications
Location
The role requires working either at client premises, from home or at FPC premises. It may also require international travel and working across timezones where necessary for project delivery.
