FSO - Tax - International Tax - Manager - Cayman

The opportunity
As an ITTS Manager, you’ll be part of a rapidly growing team with countless opportunities for contribution and growth. You’ll team with EY professionals and client stakeholders to evaluate and advise on various international tax matters.
Your key responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate engagements working primarily with global capital gains taxation, including withholding requirements along with regulatory and financial statement requirements.
- Spend your time on a diverse array of projects and clients in a highly collaborative culture, developing relationships with our clients and team effectively with internal resources.
- Develop and coach junior members of the team.
- Manage day‑to‑day activities on the engagement accounts and oversee coordination with the client and various EY internal teams spread across various locations.
Skills and attributes for success
- Highly organized with the ability to effectively prioritize when working with multiple clients.
- Perform thorough reviews of trading reports, tax rules, legal documents and financial statements needed to evaluate and calculate potential tax exposures.
- Analyze financial statements for tax character and identify book‑to‑tax differences.
- Identify key tax technical issues and raise appropriate questions before the work is sent for review to the partner or senior manager.
- Review, assess and advise clients regarding tax computations related to tax provisions, valuation allowances.
- Build impactful relationships with new and existing clients and maintain relationships with firm leadership.
- Create a positive and trusting environment where team members know each other and feel part of their team.
To qualify for the role you must have
- A Bachelor’s degree in an accounting, finance or business discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience; or an advanced degree in tax or law and a minimum of 4 years of relevant tax experience.
- A CPA (or equivalent internationally recognized accounting designation), Enrolled Agent and/or LLM certification is required.
- Experience organizing high volume projects, tracking status and leveraging Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast‑paced professional services environment.
- Experience managing budgets, projects, and people.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience working with U.S. & global tax exposures for private equity and hedge fund clients, including foreign tax rules, loan origination, U.S. ECI, FDAP, UBTI, and branch profits tax.
- Experience working with the tax implications for high‑volume trading funds, debt investment strategies, and private equity investments.
- Familiarity with ASC740 reviews for partnerships, corporations and banks, including calculating and reviewing tax provisions on financial statements under U.S. GAAP & IFRS.
- Experience preparing and reviewing tax review memorandums.
- Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary.
