Extreme is looking for a resourceful and ambitious Legal Intern to join the Legal Team this summer. In this role, you can gain practical in-house experience on a broad range of legal projects that may include commercial agreements, intellectual property, privacy, employment, litigation, product, and corporate matters.
The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated and eager to learn; an independent yet collaborative individual who can excel in a dynamic, fast paced environment. We are looking for a person who is willing to consider new ideas and think outside of the box. This individual can focus on the details, but also has the broad vision to drive larger and multiple phased projects to completion. You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and is comfortable in stressful situations. This position offers a flexible work arrangement, allowing the successful candidates to work remotely.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Researching legal issues impacting business strategy.
  • Drafting and reviewing agreements of all types, including software license agreements
  • Attending internal client meetings
  • Working with different internal teams to drive strategic business and legal initiatives across the company
  • Support ad hoc legal requests of almost every size and type
  • Exercise initiative and creativity in solving challenges and accomplishing business goals

Qualifications:

  • Highly proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills and an ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with an ability to work with a large number of diverse functional groups and levels of employees
  • Excellent analytical ability and legal drafting skills
  • A practical and proactive problem-solver who possesses strong business acumen and is confident, mature, and calm under fire
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate ideas and suggestions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications
  • Pursuing a Juris Doctor degree from top tier law school
  • Minimum of two years of relevant coursework completed – 2Ls in good standing. The position is open to 1Ls as well.
  • Engineering background a plus
