Job Description

Eurofins Discovery has supported Drug Discovery research for over 40 years. We are recognized as the industry leader for providing drug discovery researchers the largest and most diverse portfolio of standard and custom in vitro safety & pharmacology assays and panels for drug screening and profiling.

The Cell Lévescault site brings together 2 entities within the international Eurofins Discovery business line serving drug discovery:

  • Eurofins-Cerep, specializes in in-vitro pharmacology offering services that reduce drug research costs by early identification of the most promising drugs while eliminating compounds likely to fail in development.
  • Eurofins DiscoverX Products France (EDPF), produces certain strategic reagents such as purified proteins used for enzymatic tests (kinases and other enzymes).

This position of Business Development Manager will be responsible for selling and promoting Eurofins Discovery Biology, Chemistry and DMPK services in France in addition to supporting the global services strategy. The candidate will work with the Eurofins Discovery Team to achieve the sales targets. The position’s primary responsibility will be to develop new relationships with companies focused on small molecule drug discovery and effectively prospect to uncover new opportunities for the Eurofins Discovery business.

Responsibilities:

  • Selling Eurofins Discovery services across France while working collaboratively with the Eurofins Discovery sales team to promote the Discovery brand to drug discovery companies.
  • Supporting sales of DiscoverX products where applicable.
  • Contributing to the global strategy by providing recommendations and feedback for both business development and operational strategy.
  • Being responsible for meeting sales targets and revenue growth targets for specified territory.
  • Having an excellent understanding of the drug discovery market in assigned region including target companies, size of the market and emerging technologies/modalities etc.
  • Developing and maintaining high level client relationships through regular meetings, both face-to-face and virtual.
  • Promoting and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Working with members of the sales team and operations to drive business.
  • Maintaining a high level of technical and application competence and utilizing this knowledge to drive business.
  • Providing feedback and analysis to operations to improve/adjust/expand marketing strategies.
  • Using Eurofins Discovery’s CRM to log client meetings and significant calls as well as for the tracking of all opportunities.
  • Completing and regular updating of account plans.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, example: attending trade shows, presenting capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor, Master, or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field is required.
  • X years of experience in the field of drug discovery and development research – track record of successful selling and existing client network in France.
  • Excellent knowledge of the drug discovery and development process, including integrated outsourcing strategies.
  • Understanding of, or prior experience, in the pharmaceutical industry and proven ability to analyze and act on the global business trends to drive regional business development activities.
  • Exceptional business development, organization, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in French & English.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40% of time.
