About the opportunity
Dayforce Philippines is a growing HCM (human capital management) company based in Manila. Our platform, Workcloud, caters to a wide range of clients in the Japanese local market. Workcloud combines HR functions with time management, leave, and payroll services.
As a Ruby on Rails Developer, you will not just be coding, you will be engineering business solutions. With a significant focus on backend development, your role will be pivotal in developing and enhancing large-scale features for Workcloud. Your day-to-day will involve iterating our system to meet evolving regulatory demands and user needs.
What You'll Get Do
• Innovate and Implement: Design and deploy features across the full stack of our application.
• Troubleshoot and Optimize: Debug and resolve production issues and refine system performance.
• Collaborate and Create: Work in a multi-national and culturally rich team of Japanese and English speakers to deliver top tier products.
• Elevate Engineering Practices: Drive code quality and consistency and bring innovations to our development processes.
• Knowledge Sharing: Participate in peer code reviews and write detailed technical documentations.
Skills and Experience we Value
• Experienced: You have at least 3 years of Ruby on Rails expertise and are proficient with TDD.
• Communicative: Fluent in English.
• Technically Versatile: Proficient in our tech stack (Ruby on Rails, MySQL, jQuery, Kubernetes), and you have a knack for building aesthetically pleasing UIs with SASS.
• Innovative Thinker: You consider system performance integral to your development process.
What would make you really stand out
• Cloud infrastructure knowledge, especially Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes, and ArgoCD pipelines
• Prior domain knowledge in payroll and HR tech
• Conversational Japanese capabilities
