Cloudthread is an analytics platform that helps engineering teams build in the cloud with cost and environmental efficiency. We were behind Lyft's internal cloud cost management system and now we use that deep expertise to help organizations save hours of engineering time, reduce cloud bills, and prevent costly re-architectures.

Description of the Role

We are looking for a Product Designer to join our growing Product team. This is a key role focusing on shaping Cloudthread's vision with a deep UX/UI knowledge and product design best practices.

It is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in designing intuitive and efficient complex data products, who is not afraid to talk to users and understand their needs, and who wants to be part of startup founding team building the best culture and technology from the ground up.

What you'll do

• Own product design function end-to-end and eventually grow the team

• Translate business goals and product ideas into concrete design concepts

• Participate in product discovery and customer development activities

• Lead both UX and UI work streams

• Create lo-fi and hi-fi wireframes, user flow diagrams, customer journey maps

• Improve user experience in a continuous data-driven way

• Help to setup broader product processes and tools based on best practices

• Shape everything in the company – from culture to product – as a founding team member

What we look for

• You’re interested in early stage startup experience and growing a company culture

• You've designed something from scratch before, ideally related to data and analytics SaaS

• You have multiple years of extensive experience with UI/UX and broader product design

• You are proficient with design and wireframing tools

• You have strong English communication skills – verbal and written

• You want to have a huge impact on our product and cloud computing domain as a whole

• You are resourceful, move fast, and have a strong bias to action

Hiring Process

• Application - Apply here and our team will review your application. We're looking to see how your skills and experience align with our needs.

• 15 minute initial chat - Our goal is to explore your motivations to join our team, learn why you'd be a great fit, and answer questions about us.

• 2 hours of interviews - Four separate 30 minute interviews you'll schedule at your convenience. . With each founder (3x) and with a member of the team you're joining (1x).

• Cloudthread Ride Along (Paid) - For an entire day. You'll join a standup, meet the team, and work on a task related to your role. This gives us and, equally important, you a realistic sense of what it's like working together. We'll pay you $500 for the day.
