Job Description

Manage the preparation of Avery’s quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provisions in coordination with the company’s team of global tax professionals based in the US, Europe, India and Hong Kong.

Attributes of this role include:

  • Consolidation of worldwide tax provision including review of tax provision schedules, forecasts, tax adjustments, and schedule M items, proof of tax balance sheet accounts and reconciliations.
  • Preparation of tax disclosure work papers for US 10-Q and 10-K filings.
  • Analysis and reconciliation of Uncertain Tax Position liability and Valuation Allowance accounts.
  • Preparation of tax analysis for stock-based compensation (ASC 718).
  • Maintain SOX control performance activities and oversee testing of tax department controls.
  • Preparation of tax provision summaries and related planning support including critical thinking, analytics and management presentations.
  • Interface with external auditors in responding to information data requests.
  • Perform special projects as required, including implementation of tax technology tools (ONESOURCE Tax Provision, etc.).
  • This position is remote within the US, preferring candidates within the Pacific time zone.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience with a publicly traded corporation or large public accounting firm with demonstrated understanding of US GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740).
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; CPA or Master’s degree in Tax preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience consulting on finance and/or accounting issues, including analyzing information, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and delivering recommendations/presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives, operation managers, finance directors, and other corporate departments.
  • Software: ONESOURCE UTP, ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Hyperion HFM, Oracle, and MS Excel.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $115,000/ year.

The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
