Finance Co-Ordinator / Credit Control Meetings & Events – French Speaking
Main purpose of the role
Reporting to the M&E Shared Services Regional Team Leader, the accounts administrator is responsible for ensuring the M&E O2C and P2P processes are performed to exacting standards. Trade debt across the American Express GBT Group in the EMEA is circa $18M, the accounts administrator is responsible for the timely collection of the debt for the markets assigned to them. The accounts administrator also works closely with the outsourced Accounts Payable function and other shared services departments (e.g. GBT disbursements) to deliver a seamless P2P service to the M&E business. The role also provides support and commentary to the Regional Team Leads to ensure accurate and insightful reporting.

Ensure compliance with Corporate Credit policy and agreed client credit terms.
Objectives to be agreed with the management on an ongoing basis.
Collections
Ensure that debt is collected in a timely manner with the utmost professionalism and with absolute respect for the importance of good client relationships. Deal with queries promptly and effectively, build solid relationships with clients and the business and escalate to management within the business as and when necessary.
Targets to be set in conjunction with Management with focus on overdue receivables being maintained to an absolute minimum.
Reporting
Provide timely commentary on overdue debtors and creditors. Take part in weekly reviews. Liaising with Meeting Planners and local in market finance leads when necessary. Provide reporting and analysis to the business in all areas O2C & P2P.
Weekly / Monthly reporting, to be reviewed with Management prior to distribution.

Accounts Payable
Work closely with the outsourced partners and meeting planners in managing payable balances. Provide support as and when necessary for rush / accelerated payments and resolve supplier queries.
Adherence to supplier credit terms.
Cash Allocation
Support EXL in providing remittance advices, supporting on allocation queries, support with bank reconciliations queries to ensure that postings are cleared and allocated in a timely manner. Manage queries in relation to credit card receivables and payables.
Weekly review of open bank transactions with management.
Client Invoicing
Assisting the uploading of client invoices on client portal where necessary in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment.
Ensure all client invoices are processed promptly.
Reconciliation
Performing detailed reconciliations across key M&E balances sheet accounts working closely with the in country finance managers as appropriate
All relevant shared services M&E balance sheet accounts for the market are regularly reconciled and reviewed and any risks/opportunities identified and reported
Projects
Taking on ad hoc projects to approve the efficiency and effectiveness of the M&E Shared Services Team
Specific to project – objective to be agreed in advance with manager
Required Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance role
- Ability to deal with conflict in a diplomatic and professional way
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening skills
- Excellent organisational and numerical skills
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to find middle ground and resolve issues
- Excellent collaborative working skills, engaging with both sales, operations (delivery) and other parts of the finance team
- Demonstratable skills in Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite (preferable)
- Dynamic and enthusiastic team player
- Ability to work on own initiative and also as a key team member
- Ability to follow and contribute towards policies and procedures
Good knowledge of spoken and written French
