Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Operations & Strategic Projects, APAC, will spearhead the sale of products in the Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) market within the country. You will operate both as a strategic leader and a hands-on 'player-manager' to ensure a deep understanding of our product offerings, direct surgeon training, and lead the development of a specialised commercial team.

Achieve proficiency in the Hydrus Microstent surgical implantation procedure, culminating in the ability to train and certify new surgeons independently.
2. Implement and monitor sales force execution metrics, including call coverage, targeting and segmentation of appropriate surgeons, calls per day, and new surgeons certified monthly. This entails the establishment of clear performance indicators to ensure the sales team effectively prioritises and engages with key healthcare professionals, thereby maximising the reach and impact of our product offerings.
3. Take a key role in coordinating and managing prominent country congresses and events to bolster Alcon's presence and generate new business opportunities.
4. Align with the Head of Commercial Operations & Strategic Projects to develop and execute the country-level commercial and personnel strategies.
5. Manage a team of Surgical Glaucoma Specialists, fostering high performance and innovation, in line with market growth strategies.
6. Provide strategic leadership to the Australian sales team, setting ambitious yet achievable targets and driving the team towards meeting these goals.
7. Exhibit financial acumen in managing the country's Travel and Entertainment budget and collaborate on Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) with supply chain partners to ensure product availability.
8. Collaborate with the Australian Surgical team, International Marketing Group (IMG) and APAC support functions to adapt marketing materials for the Australian market.
9. Foster and enhance relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and decision-makers within the glaucoma management community to support product adoption and advocacy.
10. Ensure adherence to all regulatory, ethical, and legal standards, maintaining the company’s commitment to integrity in all business practices.
11. Act as a company ambassador at national and international forums, enhancing brand visibility and reinforcing our position as a leader in glaucoma medical devices.

Education:

Essential: Marketing and/or Business-related degree or equivalent

Desirable: MBA

Experiences:

Demonstrated leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device sector, with a strong preference for expertise in ophthalmology, especially glaucoma management.
• Proven ability to lead sales and marketing teams to achieve unified goals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and the ability to effectively engage with a range of stakeholders.
• Exceptional strategic planning skills, with a history of developing and executing plans that significantly improve market position and profitability.
• Adaptable and flexible, capable of responding to complex market dynamics and evolving business requirements.
• A strong ethical framework and commitment to compliance with regulatory standards.
