Acquia is looking for an ambitious and versatile Engineering Manager to lead engineering efforts on two fronts. You will spearhead an innovation team focused on enriching our Digital Experience Platform (DXP) with AI-driven features. Additionally, you will lead a team responsible for contributing to our modern, user-centric platform for Digital Asset Management (DAM), Product Information Management (PIM), and Analytics used by customers worldwide.

This is a hands-on management position where you will actively contribute to design, development, and code reviews, setting a strong example for your teams. You will play a pivotal role in leading and developing high-performing engineering teams within an agile environment.

In this role you will:

  • Lead Develop Teams:
    • Work in a collaborative Agile environment with US and India-based software engineers, engineering managers, UX designers, product managers, and product owners
    • Manage and mentor teams of engineers, fostering their growth and maximizing their potential
    • Actively participate in the hiring and retention of top talent
    • Champion incident responses, service uptime, and on-call schedules for team service domains and their upstream/downstream dependencies
  • Contribute Technical Excellence:
    • Design, develop, and review code, setting a high standard for your teams.
    • Contribute to the technical architecture of AI projects and the Acquia DAM codebase
    • Work with your team to implement and document engineering best practices and standards
  • Collaborate With Leaders:
    • Partner closely with the product team to prioritize features, set quarterly OKRs, and advocate for the engineering team during release/sprint planning
    • Collaborate with other engineering managers and product managers across the organization on business strategy and project management
    • Engage with various disciplines within the organization, including professional services, sales consultants, product management, and executive management

Skills and qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in managing a fully remote engineering team
  • Total 8+ years of experience and 5-10 years of hands on Java or Python software development experience, with a strong preference in candidates proficient in both
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (e.g. Bedrock, Kinesis, SQS, SNS, etc…)
  • Experience building Microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Intermediate SQL expertise hands on experience with both relational databases and NoSQL databases (e.g. MySql, Postgresql, Snowflake, Opensearch, DynamoDB, etc..)
  • Experience writing automated tests
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, ArgoCD)
  • Experience with Agile (e.g. Scrum)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field

Additional Advantages:

  • Experience working with globally distributed remote Development Teams (US)
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Data Science, or equivalent practical experience (4+ years) with AI integration or big data processing/visualization
  • Hands on experience implementing AWS Bedrock, Generative AI, RAG and Chatbot development in SaaS applications
  • Hands on experience implementing Big Data processing (ingestion, transformation, visualization) systems for customer facing Analytics in SaaS applications
  • Experience managing applications in a kubernetes environment
  • Experience working within a Product development organization and therefore contributing to mid/long-term product roadmap and lifecycle
