About the role

As a Principal Full-Stack Developer at Liven, you will be a hands-on technical leader guiding the development of scalable, performant, and secure applications across our platform. This role is both strategic and executional—helping shape the technical roadmap while actively contributing to our product delivery. You’ll work across the full stack, from frontend interfaces to backend services, data systems, and DevOps pipelines.

What you'll do

• Architect and develop high-quality, user-centric web applications using React, Node.js, and Django (Python).
• Drive system design and technical decision-making for core platform services and new features.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and event-driven services that power our consumer and merchant experiences.
• Lead and mentor engineers, sharing best practices in code quality, architecture, testing, and scalability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and QA to shape and deliver impactful experiences.
• Maintain and evolve our CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployment strategies.
• Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, technical documentation, and internal workshops.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in full-stack development, with deep expertise in both frontend and backend systems.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Python (Django).
• Strong grasp of database design and operations—experience with both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Proven experience designing scalable systems, APIs, and distributed services in production environments.
• Experience in modern DevOps practices, including containerisation (Docker), CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets, and real-time application development.
• Solid understanding of security, performance, and observability best practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

Good to Have

• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Pytest, or Cypress.
• Contributions to open-source or engineering communities.
• Startup or high-growth tech company experience.
