Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Department: Finance
Reporting Lines: Reports to Financial Reporting Manager

Job Purpose:

Working in a fast-paced and ambitious retail business, you will be responsible for assisting to managing a key area within our finance team. The role will report into the Financial Reporting Manager and you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely and insightful accounting information and financial data for the business. Working within the financial accounts team, you will need great people skills, a flexible approach, and exceptional analytical and commercial skills to deliver great results. The role will have a significant impact, supporting the financial integrity and nimbleness of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate weekly bank reconciliation to deadline.
  • Assist with foreign currency posting and revaluation.
  • Produce weekly sales reconciliation.
  • Assist with periodic online cash receipts reconciliations.
  • Responsible for banking clear down.
  • Responsible for petty cash posting and management of the till float process.
  • Responsible for credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist in reviewing proposed cheque and BACs payment runs for accuracy.
  • Assist and provide cover for the management accounts team.
  • Assist in preparation of statutory accounts and audit process.
  • Assist with the preparation of key monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with daily and weekly invoicing for UK and international partners.
  • Ad-Hoc reporting for the business.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar finance role, retail or multi-site preferred.
  • Experience with working with large volume of data and deliver within tight deadlines.
  • Familiar with accounting packages ideally Unit 4 or similar.
  • Intermediate experience of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with individuals and with a wide variety of organisations and audiences.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, priorities tasks, handle pressure and support finance team.
