Özlem Tuna
@zlemtuna
Bioinformatics scientist specializing in transcriptomics, computational oncology, and prognostic biomarker discovery.
What I'm looking for
I am a bioinformatics scientist focused on transcriptomics and computational oncology, blending wet-lab understanding with scalable computational pipelines to drive translational research. I develop reproducible workflows and R packages to translate single-cell and bulk RNA-seq data into clinically relevant insights.
During my graduate research I implemented a Nextflow DSL2 pipeline for PAS-Seq, created the R package "riskome" for prognostic modeling, and applied Cox regression, Kaplan–Meier and LASSO methods for biomarker discovery across scRNA-seq and TCGA datasets. I have contributed to collaborative projects funded by TÜBİTAK and TÜSEB and coauthored a 2025 J Immunol paper on lung cancer microenvironment dynamics.
I present my work at international conferences and participate in multidisciplinary networks to accelerate translation of computational results into biological and clinical understanding. I seek roles where I can apply my expertise in transcriptomics, pipeline development, and survival modeling to impactful translational projects.
