What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a role where I can apply Bayesian inference and rigorous validation to build trustworthy ML systems—ideally for complex scientific/health data—while collaborating to ship end-to-end pipelines with calibrated, interpretable results.

I’m a PhD computational scientist with 21 peer-reviewed publications (13 first-author) and six years as an NIH postdoctoral fellow. I model complex biological and physical systems using Bayesian inference, predictive/inferential modeling, and statistical analysis of high-dimensional, noisy data.

In recent independent work, I apply that foundation across the machine learning workflow—framing problems, feature engineering, classical and deep learning models, and rigorous cross-validation and calibration. I build end-to-end pipelines (scikit-learn and TensorFlow) and use Optuna-style hyperparameter tuning with probability calibration for reliable predictions.

My projects include HealthPass, a patient-controlled health information exchange prototype with consent controls, an audit log, and medication tracking (React/TypeScript). I also develop interactive EDA and visualization tools for COVID-19 using live public data, combining engineering, statistical probing, and user-focused deliverables.

Current

Data Preparation & Evaluation

Jan 2021 - Present (5 years 6 months)

Completed an end-to-end tabular classification workflow covering EDA, feature engineering, data cleaning/imputation, and feature selection. Compared classical machine learning with neural tabular models in TensorFlow using repeated stratified K-fold cross-validation, probability calibration, and Optuna hyperparameter tuning.
