Willie Meck

I’m an accomplished, customer-focused IT professional with over 10 years of experience in IT Service Management, IT Governance, and Infrastructure Management, supporting enterprise network and ERP software. I focus on deploying, managing, and optimizing ICT systems and operations to meet business requirements and create value for end users.

In my current role as a UNOPS Senior Engineer (June 2024–present), I provide technical input for EU and World Bank funded digital transformation projects in PNG—turning requirements into TORs, supporting procurement processes, and overseeing inspection and verification of supplied equipment. I also provide oversight for FMIS/ERP and M365 setup for 21 government offices, and I facilitate training and refreshers based on identified training needs.

Across ICT Operations, I ensure stable network administration and reliable, secure connectivity to internet and HQ systems (OneUNOPS ERP, PQMS, Google Workspace, M365), while keeping InfoSec implementations aligned with UN standards and ISO/IEC 27001. I maintain KPI-driven, “fast, friendly, and effective” user support recording timeliness, and I manage assets, consulting/audit inspections, and knowledge sharing to help teams improve how they deliver services.

Previously at Vodafone PNG (Dec 2022–June 2024), I directed day-to-day IT Services Management Office activities, developed IT governance and ITSM processes, negotiated SLAs across IaaS/PaaS/SaaS and M365, and implemented ISMS using ISO/IEC 27001. I led security and network improvements—deploying PAM/IAM/MFA/SSO, managing advanced controls (SIEM/XDR, UEM, segmentation, DMZ), and strengthening business continuity with backups and disaster recovery—while supporting ERP and end-user platforms and delivering infrastructure projects.
