Vesile Han
@vesilehan
AI Master’s student with a background in Computer Engineering, dedicated to Natural Language Processing and Small Language Models.
TurkeyWhat I'm looking for
I am an Artificial Intelligence Master’s student at Gebze Technical University with a B.Sc in Computer Engineering from Istanbul Health and Technology University. Driven by a strong foundation in mathematics and machine learning, my primary focus is on Natural Language Processing (NLP), specifically the adaptation, parameter-efficient fine-tuning (PEFT/LoRA), and deployment of Small Language Models (SLMs).
I actively build and share end-to-end NLP pipelines using PyTorch and the Hugging Face ecosystem (Transformers, TRL, Datasets, PEFT). My hands-on work includes developing domain-adapted SLMs—such as fine-tuning Qwen-series models for specialized code QA and domain-specific tasks—and publishing trained weights and artifacts to the Hugging Face Hub. I also bring a proven research background as a co-author of a peer-reviewed publication applying deep learning to medical data.
In addition to my technical research, my experience as a Student Assistant leading undergraduate lab sessions in Python and Object-Oriented Programming sharpened my ability to communicate complex concepts, debug systematically, and mentor others. I am committed to advancing efficient, accessible, and high-performance language modeling solutions.
