What I'm looking for

Remote roles building production AI on top of real backend infra — payments, multi-tenant platforms, agentic workflows. Interesting problems for me are where AI meets messy production reality: idempotent ledgers, cost/latency, evals, agents that don't hallucinate at 2 AM. Built this at IléHQ, Sendcoins, and Velric. Async-first, ship-focused, autonomous. That's how I work best.

I'm Tobbie — a backend engineer specializing in AI systems, fintech infrastructure, and multi-tenant platforms. Over the last 4 years, I've built the kind of backend systems where getting it wrong means someone loses money, misses a payment, or gets double-charged. So I don't get it wrong.

Most recently, I architected IléHQ, an AI-powered property management platform running in Lagos and Toronto. Secure multi-tenant backend, dual-gateway payments (Stripe + Paystack), and autonomous AI workflows handling guest triage, identity verification, and maintenance dispatch end-to-end. One system, two markets, minimal human intervention.

Beyond IléHQ, I've shipped production systems across fintech and AI:
- Built a multi-blockchain payment engine for Sendcoins routing transactions across TRC20, BEP20, and ERC20 with idempotent ledgers and real-time gas management.
- Engineered a Claude-powered code grading pipeline at Velric with a multi-agent evaluation system and server-side code execution across 10+ languages.
- Designed a legally defensible e-signature engine at LuliSign with AES-256-GCM encryption and full audit trails for signed documents.

Stack I reach for: Node.js, NestJS, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, BullMQ, and increasingly LLM orchestration (GPT-4o, Claude, CrewAI). I care about idempotency, observability, and systems that don't wake me up at 2 AM.

Built the 15-step AI messaging pipeline (GPT-4o + Claude failover) that handles guest triage, identity verification via NIN + GPT-4o Vision, and 30+ autonomous tools. Engineered a 17-phase booking state machine, dual-market payments (Stripe + Paystack), and 39+ idempotent cron jobs. WhatsApp-first, no dashboards, no apps.

Built the V3 engine — a multi-agent AI system (CrewAI: Analyst, Designer, Reviewer) that auto-generates coding challenges. Designed the code execution engine (10+ languages, server-side, sandboxed grading). Built the "Code Sabotage" system: injects bugs into missions, validates through a three-stage pipeline. Wired real-time Socket.IO with anti-cheat, and migrated background jobs to BullMQ/Redis.
