Thien Kim Dieu
@thienkimdieu
School psychologist and educator combining evidence-based assessments with culturally responsive support for neurodiverse, underserved students.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Ph.D.-trained school psychology professional who partners with students, families, and educators to strengthen mental health, inclusion, and access to effective supports. My doctoral work—“Seekers and Doers: Vietnamese American Mothers Navigating the World of Autism”—and my teaching reflect a commitment to educational equity, disability rights, and culturally attuned counseling.
In practice and the classroom, I use comprehensive, humane psycho-educational assessment methods to determine special education eligibility and to write “useful, accessible, and legally defensible” reports. I’ve also led and collaborated on MTSS/Wellness Center frameworks, delivered workshops and mentorship, and served on committees such as the LGBTQ+ Designee Committee to expand belonging and support for historically underrepresented students.
