Taught undergraduate psychology courses including General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Counseling & Interviewing, Positive Psychology, Lifespan Development, Human Sexuality, and related coursework. Provided mentorship and served on multiple college committees, including LGBTQ+ related leadership.

Provided social-emotional and behavioral health support to students across two elementary schools under an MTSS framework. Helped implement an Elementary School Wellness Center and collaborated with students, staff, and community to deliver behavioral consultation, referrals, and professional development.

Implemented evidence-based academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions and monitored student responsiveness to interventions. Conducted psycho-educational assessments, wrote reports, supported inclusion for neurodiverse learners, and connected students and families to community resources.

Taught a winter interterm School Psychology course focused on Cultural and Community Issues in Counseling and School Psychology. Used an educational equity framework to explore how immigration, poverty, and racism affect pupil development and intervention practices.

Taught a Law & Ethics course in the School Psychology graduate program. Provided mentorship and support to first-year graduate students learning remotely during COVID-19.

Taught graduate courses in Law & Ethics, Alternative Assessment, Graduate Seminar, and Fieldwork within the School Psychology program. Provided student mentorship and advisement, supported program administration, facilitated trainings/workshops, and participated in university committees.

Collaborated with families to improve understanding of special education, related services, procedural rights, and school-based assessment results. Conducted outreach with the Vietnamese community and provided parent/family support activities including training residents on special education vs. medical diagnosis.

Supervised a group of school psychology graduate students supporting families of children with disabilities. Delivered and facilitated three-tier approach workshops/trainings and consulted with families on understanding special education programs.

Developed Vietnamese parent support groups focused on child disability understanding, navigating special education processes, managing behaviors, and coping with caregiving demands. Consulted with families regarding IEPs and collaborated with medical professionals and community agencies.

Provided instructional support to the primary instructor and School Psychology graduate students. Developed lesson plans, supported teaching school psychology courses, and supported student discussion of legal/ethical/mental health issues for children and youth.

Assessed elementary students across areas of suspected learning needs and implemented evidence-based interventions with responsiveness monitoring. Conducted comprehensive assessments and worked with teachers, administrators, parents, and teams to gather information and support special education eligibility.

Conducted assessments including informal and curriculum-based assessments, cognitive tests, observations, record reviews, and interviews to determine special education eligibility. Consulted with teachers and support staff, speech pathologists, families, and community mental health providers to support appropriate interventions.

Provided in-home Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children and youth with autism. Taught replacement behaviors to increase appropriate behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors, and monitored progress using daily data collection.

Conducted comprehensive assessments including cognitive tests, observations, record reviews, and interviews to determine special education eligibility. Provided Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and developed and implemented a group counseling curriculum for students in an Emotional Disturbance category.

Worked with Vietnamese students in general and special education settings to assess for special education eligibility and develop accommodations. Provided individual counseling in English and Vietnamese and collaborated with Vietnamese families to align home and school supports.

Administered Woodcock Johnson III Achievement calibration test items to children and college students to determine item appropriateness for age groups.

Created a safe and supportive environment for litigants’ children and children who witnessed or were victims of crimes. Provided play therapy and age-appropriate activities to help children cope with stress and build self-esteem.

Trained corps members to work effectively with underserved preschool students and their families, including preparing for sessions and role modeling. Facilitated communication among corps members, preschool children, and families.

Worked with underserved community and preschool children to support social-emotional and academic development. Provided families resources to help reinforce children’s successes at home with consistency.

Earned a Ph.D. in Education with a School Psychology emphasis in May 2018. Dissertation topic: "Seekers and Doers: Vietnamese American Mothers Navigating the World of Autism."
