Baonguyen Nguyen
@baonguyennguyen
PhD student and writing instructor combining comparative literature research with teaching and editorial leadership.
What I'm looking for
I’m a third-year PhD student focused on comparative studies in literature and culture, and I bring a disciplined research mindset to every project. My work centers on how themes like water, memory, and hauntology shape contemporary Vietnamese American literature.
In teaching roles, I’ve instructed freshmen writing and supported learners through reading-focused tutoring. I grade thoughtfully, give clear feedback, and design engaging lessons that help students move from barriers to measurable progress.
I also contribute beyond the classroom through research and editorial experiences. As a research assistant, intern, and writing-based contributor, I evaluated submissions, prepared reading write-ups, curated content for an online database, and supported publications and outreach.
Because I enjoy building strong teams and caring for communities, I’ve stepped into coordination and operations work as well. I’ve supported executive leadership, organized workflows, led staff check-ins, supervised interns, and helped advance fundraising, stewardship, and social media visibility.
