Thandeka Tembe

I’m a versatile, culturally attuned translator and cultural liaison with extensive experience in cultural liaison, ethnography, and event logistics. I build bridges between communities, artists, and international organizations through strong Zulu–English language capability.

In my current freelance and project work, I translate educational resources into IsiZulu to support curriculum-based learning. I localize materials by integrating Southern African Nguni cultural contexts, collaborate with editorial teams to improve quality, and develop new content ideas.

I’m also experienced in research and community-facing roles, acting as a cultural and linguistic bridge for anthropological and ethnographic work. I support contextual guidance, advise on cultural protocols to strengthen trust and reduce miscommunication, and contribute to stakeholder communication using report writing and analysis.

Alongside interpreting and translation, I’ve delivered operationally demanding work—managing full event lifecycles with logistics, vendors, budgets, and reporting under significant time pressure.
