At DC Thomson, I moved into platform engineering and applied cloud and infrastructure work to staging and development environments. Ahead of a site launch, I identified and closed an AWS security gap involving a Lambda function that wasn't enforcing its authoriser.
I developed responsive, accessible frontend features with React, TypeScript, and Next.js across WordPress and headless platforms. I also led Gutenberg block editor integration across publishing networks and developed a reusable consent package for a critical product launch.
I use Terraform and CircleCI in platform work, and write automated tests with Karate, Jest, and PHPUnit. I also use AI-assisted tools in day-to-day engineering and have shared guidance on using them safely, while mentoring frontend engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
