Silvia Acebedo
@silviaacebedo
Early Childhood Developmental Consultant with 15+ years assessing and supporting children’s development through compassionate, data-informed guidance.
What I'm looking for
I’m an Early Childhood Developmental Consultant who’s passionate about helping children thrive through clear assessment, thoughtful curriculum support, and empathetic guidance. I bring over 15 years of managing, supervising, and assessing early childhood development, with a results-oriented approach.
In my current role, I help screen and assess children ages birth to 5 for developmental delays, social-emotional/behavioral matters, and signs of depression. I also screen and assess caregivers who might need support, and I make referrals to at-risk individuals to appropriate services.
Previously, I served as an NJ CEAS Elementary School Teacher (K-5) and an Executive Director, leading curriculum development and implementation, conducting parent conferences, and writing reports. I conduct frequent classroom observations and provide coaching, and I plan staff development opportunities and training for preschool staff.
I’m known for empathy, patience, creativity, and collaboration—especially when it comes to classroom support, staff leadership, and communication with families. I’ve helped maintain compliance with state and school policies, support strategies to maintain and recruit students, and oversee daily operations while supervising and formally evaluating preschool staff.
