Planned cooperatively with the First Grade Team, ensuring lessons rigorously met Common Core state standards. Developed meaningful SEL lessons to address the needs in my class and integrated effective, differentiated instruction while harboring a safe learning environment.

Instructed curriculum programs including Fundations, Everyday Math, Empowering Writers, and Making Meaning. Collaborated with team members to plan and design supplemental curriculum and implemented cutting-edge technology in the classroom.

Planned comprehensive and engaging summer curriculum for a class of 9 students, addressing the goals and accommodations of each child’s IEP. Collected high-level data on students to help write final reports and communicated effectively with specialists to create a schedule for additional services.

Created appropriate curriculum and implemented instruction based on state standards and district curriculum. Communicated effectively with school administration and parents/guardians, and administered assessments such as Dibels, BAS, and math assessments.

Consulted with teachers to provide the best resources and teaching to students, working with students in guided reading groups. Performed assessments and reported findings, discussing them with the lead teacher.

Administered the Michigan Early Intervention Developmental Profile assessment on children between the ages of birth to age three, and wrote and implemented IFSP developmental reports. Managed up to 22 cases at a time with varying levels of intensity and communicated feedback and instructions to parents/guardians/providers.

Provided trusted care for nurturing needs, acting with initiative in trying situations with strong problem-solving skills. Engaged children in various age-appropriate activities of crafts, stories, imaginative play, and outdoor play, while creating and following schedules and routines to ensure quality of care.

Graduated in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Minored in Education and Psychology, with a focus on students with and without disabilities.

Completed a Masters in Early Childhood Education, graduating in February 2012. This program prepared me for a professional license in Massachusetts Early Childhood education, focusing on students with and without disabilities, PreK-2.
