Rachel Wellens

Insurance agent assistant helping customers with policies, claims, and coverage changes.
What I'm looking for
I’m an Agent Assistant at American Family Insurance, supporting two agents and helping customers manage policy and vehicle changes. I handle phone support, payment processing, and clear answers about policy information and vehicle coverage.
I also help customers file claims in Relate and coordinate next steps by working through Teams to connect them with claims adjusters. When issues come up, I reach out to billing and related agent assistance services to solve questions quickly and keep things moving for the customer.
Previously, I worked as a Claims Representative at Farmers Insurance Group, where I managed around 200 claims at a time. I contacted customers monthly, calculated wage loss, created required documents, and responded to attorney demands.
Before moving fully into insurance, I built my people-first and organization skills through education and youth leadership roles. From classroom music teaching to leading kids’ programs, I learned how to stay calm, communicate clearly, and support a safe, welcoming experience for others.
