Olatunji Gideon
@olatunjigideon
Yoruba language specialist translating and annotating with deep dialectal fluency for AI and editorial quality.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Yoruba language specialist and professional communicator focused on English–Yoruba translation, transcription, and linguistic annotation. With native fluency and strong grammatical, syntactic, and idiomatic accuracy across multiple dialects, I help preserve the language’s cultural meaning in both human writing and digital contexts.
I work as a freelance English–Yoruba translator from 2020 to present, supporting community documents, personal correspondence, journalistic materials, and editorial content. I also bring editorial rigor—copyediting, proofreading, tone evaluation, and fact-checking—while adapting register and vocabulary to the audience and dialectal variation.
I’m equally invested in research and storytelling: I conducted primary Yoruba oral history research into royal lineage through Yoruba interviews and transcription, and I publish journalism and long-form writing that connects language, identity, and finance. I’m passionate about advancing Yoruba in digital and AI applications with integrity, clarity, and cultural authority.
