Abdulqudus Hammed

I’m a detail-oriented Yoruba language specialist and linguist with 4+ years of experience in linguistic editing, translation, dubbing, and voice-over production. I bring a strong command of Standard Yoruba and regional dialects, and I’m driven by using domain expertise to improve cultural accuracy and performance of frontier AI models.

In my current role as a Yoruba Data Labeling Specialist (Remotasks, Jan 2023–Present), I’ve annotated and labeled over 80,000 Yoruba text samples for AI language model training, including accurate tonal marking, grammar structure, and cultural context. I also transcribe and translate Yoruba audio into written text, and I evaluate and rate AI-generated Yoruba responses for fluency, relevance, and cultural appropriateness as part of RLHF pipelines.

Previously, as a Freelance Yoruba Translator & Linguistic Reviewer (Self-Employed, Jun 2022–Dec 2022), I delivered EN↔YO translations and proofread Yoruba writing for NGOs and community organizations, ensuring grammatical accuracy and cultural sensitivity. I’ve also contributed to projects like an AI Yoruba Corpus build (10,000+ annotated sentences), led Yoruba dubbing for a 52-episode children’s animation series, and translated/voice-acted a COVID-19 awareness campaign reaching 2M+ listeners.
