What I'm looking for

I’m looking for remote, high-accuracy annotation and Yoruba language data work—translation, transcription, and QA—to strengthen African-language AI with culturally nuanced training datasets.

I’m a native Yoruba linguist and OAU graduate with expertise in translation, transcription, and broadcasting. I specialize in English–Yoruba content adaptation for media and education, with a strong focus on cultural nuance, orthography, and tone.

In broadcast journalism roles, I supported newsroom operations, translated local and foreign news into Yoruba, and handled editing, casting, and anchoring for public affairs and government policy. I also supervised IT students in newsroom operations, building a workflow mindset that keeps quality consistent.

Beyond media, I’ve delivered classroom teaching through the NYSC, managing daily classroom activities professionally and strengthening communication and conflict-resolution skills. I bring that same clarity and discipline into language and data work, especially when accuracy and guidelines matter.

I’m passionate about developing high-quality training data to make AI work better for African languages. Through independent corpus building and large-scale Yoruba localization, I’ve created annotated Ife dialect samples and translated 5+ annual publications—doing end-to-end QA for terminology, tone marks, and cultural accuracy.

Initiated and built a linguistic corpus of 200+ annotated Ife Yoruba dialect samples for NLP/ASR training. Collected audio-text pairs with metadata (tone, orthography, sociocultural context) and developed a scalable pipeline aimed at expanding to 1000+ samples for ASR, machine translation, and LLM fine-tuning.
