Nicolás Gómez
@nicolsgmez
I’m a translator and sociology professor specializing in literary and audiovisual work.
What I'm looking for
I combine training in Translation Studies with a sociological perspective to produce precise, culturally grounded work in Spanish. I earned my Master in Translation Studies at the University of Brasilia, where my thesis focused on translating Lima Barreto into rioplatense Spanish, supported by a translation commentary.
Since 2010, I’ve worked as a translator across Portuguese, French, English, and Spanish—covering fiction, philosophy, and social sciences. I’ve translated audiovisual content (including subtitle translation for TV5 MONDE from 2015 to 2025 via Eclair, Hiventy, and TransPerfect) and delivered prominent literary translations, while also contributing to translation-focused articles, presentations, and teaching at the University of Buenos Aires.
