Nathan Williams
@nathanwilliams1
Entry-level IT and network technician focused on reliable troubleshooting.
What I'm looking for
I’m hands-on in IT, networking, and hardware, with a structured approach to troubleshooting and fault diagnosis. Through independent lab work, I’ve developed strong practical knowledge in structured cabling, network concepts, and information security.
I built real-world confidence through Pharmacy IT Department work experience at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital / The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. I visited server rooms to learn about patching, cable management, switch stacking, and racking, while observing 20+ service desk calls and engaging with ticket management and an Active Directory walkthrough.
In my technical lab projects, I’ve worked end-to-end from physical to logical networking. I’ve terminated Cat5e/Cat6 using T568B, and configured Cisco switch labs including VLAN segmentation, SSH, port security, STP/RSTP, Inter-VLAN routing with SVIs, DHCP, EtherChannel (LACP), and OSPF.
I also deploy and troubleshoot Windows Server fundamentals, including Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, DHCP scopes, and Group Policy Objects. I’m currently working toward CompTIA Network+ and CCNA, and my BSc software engineering dissertation focused on smart network mapping and a cable management system.
