Meghan Sever

At Southwest Power Pool, I lead stakeholder and communications strategy for Markets+, a major regulatory and market-design initiative spanning utilities, regulators, and government affairs teams across the U.S. and Canada. My work helped secure stakeholder buy-in for $150 million in implementation funding for a market targeted for launch in 2027.

I translate complex regulatory, technical, and political issues into clear narratives that work for executives, regulators, employees, media, and external stakeholders. I facilitate executive governance bodies, chair a stakeholder Communications Advisory Group, mediate contentious discussions using Robert's Rules of Order, and advise leadership on reputational and regulatory risk.

I've led communications through high-stakes organizational moments, including the COVID-19 remote-work transition, the February 2021 Winter Storm Uri emergency, SPP's Western Interconnection expansion, and a corporate rebrand and website launch. I also serve on SPP's Incident Command team and build practical crisis governance, media strategy, stakeholder intelligence, and internal communications systems.

Before SPP, I managed statewide communications for the Arkansas Judiciary, supporting courts and elected judicial officials through high-profile trials, press coordination, judicial education, and a comprehensive rebrand. Across regulated energy and the judicial system, I build trust and momentum when the issues are complex and the stakes are high.
